A Few Days in England - Nov 2007DAY 22: Castleton in SnowSunday, a quiet morning, rather cold with showers and heavy cloud. I left Froggatt Edge and drove the short distance north to Castleton, with the idea of walking some of the way up Mam Tor. But as I turned the corner from Castleton to catch the first glimpse of Mam Tor and Winnats Pass, I was surprised to see all the hills covered in a think blanket of snow. I drove on, up through Winnats Pass and on to Slackhall, before returning to Treak Cliff Cavern (which I had visited in 2003). After a few more photos I took the other road down to Sparrowpit and on to Leek.
